Helping Verb:

He, she, it, single noun	is
I	am
we, you, they, plural noun	are

 

Transformations

Affirmative:

Sub	HV	Verb+ing.
She	Is	Working.
I	Am	Reading.
They	Are	Sleeping.

Interrogative:

HV	Sub	Verb+ing?
Is	She	Working?
Am	I	Reading?
Are	they	Sleeping?

Negative:

Sub	HV + not	Verb+ing
She	Is not	Working
I	Am not	Reading.
They	Are not	Sleeping.

Interrogative and negative:

HV	Sub	Not	Verb+ing?
Is	She	not	Working?
Am	I	not	Reading?
Are	They	not	Sleeping?

Uses

Use_1
Happening now.

یوز:جب کوئی کام موجودہ زمانے میں جاری ہو۔

Examples.

• Zoya is sleeping at the moment.
• I am using the internet.
• They are reading a book.
• Ahmad is watching T.V.

Now, at the moment, currently.

 

Use_2

Definite future plans.

یوز:اگر آپ نے مستقبل کے لیے کوئی کام کرنے کا پہلے سے ہی منصوبہ بنایا ہوا ہو ۔

 

Examples

• I am going on holiday tomorrow.
• We are meeting next week.
• She is buying a watch tonight.
• They are taking tea later.

Tonight, later, this weakened, tomorrow.

 

Use_3

Temporary situations.

یوز:ایسے کام یا حالت جو تھوڑے وقت کے کیے جاری رہے ۔

Examples

• I am staying with a friend for two days.
• She is living in Lahore for few days.
• They are working in UK these days.

These days, few days, at the moment, for few time.

 

Use_4

Changing situations.

جب حالات بدل رہے ہوں۔

Examples

• The weather is improving.
• He is feeling better.

Little by little, gradually.

 

Use_5

With “Always”, “forever”, “constantly”.

جب ایک کام بار بار ہونے کا ذکر کیا جائے ۔

Examples

• She is always arguing.
• They are constantly complaining.

Exercise

نوٹ: اگر آپ نے یہ ٹینس سیکھ لیا ہےتو نیچے دیے گئے فقرات کو انگلش میں ٹرانسلیٹ کریں۔ کمنٹ بوکس میں آپکی پریکٹس چیک کی جائے گی۔

Simple Sentences:

1. وہ چائے بنا رہی ہے۔
2. ہم کل اسلام آباد جا رہے ہیں۔
3. اسکی صحت بہتر ہو رہی ہے۔
4. میں آج کل مری میں ٹھہرا ہوا ہوں۔

 

Negative Sentences:

1. وہ گاڑی نہیں چلا رہا ہے۔
2. میں اپنا کام نہیں کر رہا ہوں۔
3. وہ کل کلاس نہیں لے رہی ہے۔
4. زاہد موبائل استعمال نہیں کر رہا ہے۔

 

Interrogative Sentences:

1. کیا تم سکول جا رہے ہو؟
2. کیا وہ پہلے سے بہتر ہو رہا ہے؟
3. کیا عالیہ شادی کر رہی ہے؟
4. کیا وہ گھر کی صفائی کر رہے ہیں؟
